winter pond, ice

Image of winter pond, ice

In the middle of the winter the snow has fallen and been walked in by small animals, the ice on the pond has frozen, broken and re-frozen, and trees are bare, allowing you to see into the woods in ways you can't when the leaves are out. I wanted to capture that moment in fabric. Using cotton and silk, torn and cut, I composed the scene. Careful stitching adds detail and definition.

This 8x10" reproduction of an original artwork is printed on archival paper and mounted on white foam core, ready for framing.
